Administrative Assistant for Children and Youth Ministry


Basic Tasks and Duties

  • Provide administrative support for assigned Ministry Directors (Children, Jr. High, Sr. High)
  • Compile, create and print activity calendars, educational materials, brochures, flyers, camp/retreat/mission trip books
  • Prepare and mail activity notices to members of all youth groups
  • Distribute, collect, and process applications for ministry activities (i.e. youth camps, events/activities)
  • Track weekly attendance (JC, ENGAGE)
  • Handle, process and track financial transactions for youth/children’s events (i.e. all events, camps, VBS)
  • Publish quarterly newsletter for youth ministry; send bulk mailings
  • Maintain children, youth and college databases
  • Change youth bulletin boards seasonally
  • Assist assigned Ministry Directors with activities and duties as needed
  • Primary backup to worship admin
  • Secondary backup for facility scheduling

Characteristics/Capabilities Required

  • Understands church ministry environment
  • Flexible and able to work closer to full time on certain weeks
  • Able to work autonomously and with some interruptions from people walking up to the Welcome Center

Hours/status
It is believed that it will require only about 20 hour per week to do the job most weeks. There will be certain peak times such as camp, VBS and retreat prep that will require more hours.
