Rob Hock
Senior Pastor

Rob grew up in St. Louis and in Dallas, later attending Texas A & M University. On a college retreat, Rob came to know the true meaning of the Gospel. He learned that God’s Word overcomes our sin and frees us to live in complete peace with Him. Rob began to develop a deep and meaningful relationship with Christ for the first time in his life.

Rob immersed himself in Christian ministry. He volunteered with youth ministries, interned at churches, and worked at Christian camps. After he graduated, Rob answered God’s call to enter full-time ministry as a Youth Director at a church in Katy, TX, near Houston.

While in Houston, Rob became reacquainted with Kimmy whom he had met in college. They were married in 1995 and moved to Massachusetts, where Rob received a Masters of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

After graduating, Rob and Kimmy accepted God’s call to move to Washington, D.C. where he served as an Associate Pastor until 2006. Rob again responded to God’s call and moved to Washington state, where he became the senior pastor of the Community Church of Ephrata (EPC).

With his passion for bringing Biblical truth to a congregation, Rob challenges us with the life-changing message of the Gospel as it transforms and renews our lives. He desires that we, as a church family, make connections between God and our lives, encouraging us to respond in righteousness.

Kimmy's story is not entirely different from Rob’s, learning about Jesus Christ through a Young Life high school program. She learned a great deal about walking faithfully with the Lord and leading others into a deep relationship with Him during her time as a backpacking guide at a Christian wilderness ranch. She remains active in ministry and considers it a great privilege to serve the Lord as He leads. Her primary ministry these days is at home as a wife and mother.

Rob and Kimmy have four children who Kimmy homeschools. MacKenzie is 14-years-old, Joseph is 11, Annebelle is 10 and Sammy is 7. Soccer, gymnastics, piano, basketball and hand bells occupy some of their free time. Rob enjoys golf, camping, exploring history and reading espionage novels.

June Barrow
Associate Pastor

June and her husband Alfred first connected with SPC in 1981. Their first Sunday at Southport was the last Sunday for Dr. Quentin Small, associate pastor, who was departing to oversee a new church plant in Center Grove. Al and June became part of the church plant and were founding members of Center Grove Presbyterian Church. In 1997, June, who was completing a seminary education, became Southport’s first pastoral intern. She was ordained in 1999 and joined Southport’s pastoral staff.

June is an alumna of Wheaton College, holds a Master of Arts in English from the University of Illinois, and the Master of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary. Before coming to the church she taught high school English, college writing and worked as a corporate trainer.

Al earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Indiana State University and has been in private practice as a psychologist and therapist for more than 30 years, doing counseling, assessments and forensic work. The four therapists who work with him are all Christians and they serve several missions organizations.

Al and June's daughter Emily is married to Marc, who is doing a church plant for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church near Pittsburgh. They have two sons and one daughter, Joey, Will, and Katie. Their son Nathan works as a teacher at Greenwood Christian Academy and is active at SPC in youth ministry and music ministry.

Josh Cole
Associate Pastor

Josh grew up in the mountains of southwest Virginia where he was nurtured in the Christian faith both by his family and small church. After completing a bachelor's degree at King College in Bristol, Tennessee (now King University), he married his high school sweetheart, Sara (also a King grad.). The newly married couple moved to Princeton, New Jersey, where Josh attended Princeton Theological Seminary and completed a Masters of Divinity degree in 2001.

For ten years Josh and Sara lived in the mountain town of Waynesville, North Carolina. Josh served as Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church (Presbyterian Church USA) for four years and then the next six as solo pastor of Providence Church (Evangelical Presbyterian Church). During this time all six of their children were born -- Abigail, Nathan, Peter, Eliza and the twins Lucy and Miriam. In addition, Josh completed a Doctorate of Ministry focused on worship through Erskine Theological Seminary in 2010.

God's call to move to Indianapolis in 2013 was both clear and surprising. Josh is excited to be part of a church that has proclaimed the good news of Jesus since 1833. Sara will continue her ministry as a mother while homeschooling their children. In their spare time the Cole's enjoy hiking, camping and being outdoors. Josh tries to run regularly and enjoys the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams and Walker Percy.
