As a senior in high school, my youth minister tried to convince me to pursue a career in youth ministry. I once made the arrogant comment to him, “I love sports, and if God can use me to serve Him through sports, He’ll find a way to do it!”

Well, wouldn’t you know that God had a plan for me all along? I feel very blessed to be serving God through my dream job. The thing I love about sports is that they provide a non-threatening environment to share what Christ has done for us with others.

Although it’s not very popular here, baseball is my favorite sport. In my opinion, nothing beats a day out at the ballpark. Chicago sports run through my blood, and I’ll never hesitate to let people know that I am a Bears fan. And in case you’re wondering, the White Sox are Chicago’s real baseball team.

Wes graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Quincy University in 2005. He played baseball there for one year.
