Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation, trained and filled with compassion. They will meet approximately one hour a week, to listen and be a friend to someone in need. They are NOT professional counselors. They will maintain your privacy as they show you Christ's love.

Stephen Ministry started at Southport Presbyterian Church in 1988, by our visionary and long time members, Kenny and Tindy Simon. Pastor Kevin Bausman trained with them and these three began the ministry. Since then, over 65 people have been trained and become Stephen Ministers!
